Between 2015 and 2017, there have been numerous attempts by Hindumesia forces in collusion with State to expropriate the Śri Sadhukkal Mutt and the Arunachala Jnanadesikar Swami Mutt against court orders.
In 2019, the State run HR&CE Board passed an illegal order to seize control of the Vedaranyam Mutt, preventing the sanyasis of the Nithyānanda Order from entering into the kingdom, which was rightfully inherited by The SPH.
